Missionary Carolyn Patricia Cooley-Stone was born on September 20, 1939 in Nashville, Tennessee to Mary Blake and Thomas Parks. She was adopted by her grandparents, Annie and James Cooley, at the young age of two. She attended Crispus Attucks High School and worked at Larue Carter Hospital as a Dietary Aide for over 30 years.
Missionary Carolyn Stone was an awesome woman of God. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. Missionary Stone had a vivid imagination, if you ever had a conversation with her, you know what we mean!
Missionary Stone was a strict disciplinary. She loved talking on the phone with her friends. She had her favorite shows lined up that she would watch every day. From Let’s Make a Deal, Price is Right, Highway to Heaven and Dancing with The Stars.
On March 29, 1956 Missionary Carolyn Stone was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Kay Stone Sr. Under this union, 5 kids were born. Missionary Stone accepted Jesus Christ at Kingsley Terrace Church under the leadership of GP Holt. She later joined her husband at Open Door Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop Rufus Hicks. She was a faithful servant who worked on the Pastor’s Aide committee and missionary department. She enjoyed going to the women’s prison where she had the opportunity to minister.
Missionary Carolyn Stone went home to be present with the Lord on Septmeber27, 2025 at the age of eighty-six years old. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Blake and Thomas Parks and Annie and James Cooley; her husband of 66 years, Thomas Kay Stone Sr.; her daughter, Cynthia Stone; her stepson, Byron Frierson; her grandson, Anthony Stone; and her brother, Harold Alexander.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories her daughters, Raynatte Rollins (Otha) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Stephanie Patrick (Eric) of Lakeland, Florida; her sons, Thomas Kay Stone Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; Jeffery Stone (Lori) of Le Mars, Iowa; Thomas Anthony Stone (Martha) of New Albany, Indiana; Thomas D. Stone of Indianapolis, Indiana; her nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; goddaughters; Sherrell Hicks, Sherri Jackson, and Derita Crooks all of Indianapolis, Indiana.
