Monica Rae Gooch was born on December 26, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Henry Gooch and Doreatha Gooch, who loved and cherished her deeply. Monica departed this life peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 57 years.
Monica lived a life defined by strength, compassion, a warm heart, strong spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone around her. She had a special way of making people feel seen and cared for whether through her laughter, her honesty, or her unwavering support.
Monica attended elementary school at St. Rita Catholic School and graduated in 1986 from Thomas Carr Howe High School. She valued education and the lifelong friendships she built during those years.
Monica was an employee of Indiana Department of Transportation and William N. Wishard Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. She followed her entrepreneurial dream and started Good To Go Bail Bonding. Her mission is to help people get a second chance. She was admired for her dedication, compassion, and professionalism.
Monica was known throughout the community for her kindness, understanding, and her willingness to help others in their time of need – everyone loved her for it.
Outside of work, Monica enjoyed the simple joys of life. She definitely loved all kinds of old school music, often filling any room with classic tunes and good energy. Her music, laughter, and vibrant spirit could brighten anyone’s day and spending time with her sister/friends who she referred to as SiStars: Peggy Grant, Alicia Wade and Deborah Powell.
Monica was a devoted mother to her son, the light of her life, Dominique Laray Davis, Jr., and a loving godmother and aunt, to Keya Garrett, who held a special place in her heart.
Monica also leaves behind her beloved aunt, Delores Vance; along with her siblings, Shannan “Ladie Bug”, Frank, Joe, Anthony, Henry, Mattie, Oretha, Lynda, and Nadine, a host of nieces and nephews, and lots of other family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Doreatha Gooch; grandmother, Helen Vance; her son’s father, Dominique Davis, Sr.; her brothers, Harold and Edmond, and sisters, Essie and Kathey.
