Michael Scott, Jr. was born on August 24, 1983, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Michael was the second child born to Hazel and Michael Scott, Sr. Michael, affectionately known as “Mike” received his primary education in Fort Drum, New York; Baumholder, Germany; and Indianapolis, Indiana. Michael graduated from Pike High School and furthered his education at Vincennes University and receiving his Associate Degree from Ball State University.
As a child, Michael was a WWF fanatic and played as the Bushwhackers with his sister, Courtney. Michael also used to try to put Courtney in sleeper holds and had arguments about whether wrestling was real. Once Courtney got too old, Sabrina and Katrina became his next wrestling opponents. As an adult, in his leisure time, Michael loved to spend time with his beloved friends and family. Michael enjoyed traveling with loved ones and cracking jokes on family and friends. Michael projected positive energy and was fondly known all around the city of Indianapolis. Whether hosting or attending, he was truly the life of the party. After evolving his cooking skills from bologna and cheese, Michael coined himself as the “Grill Master” as he loved to grill for his family and friends and anointed himself as Master Chef. Michael took great pride in hosting his annual 4th of July “Mike Scott Firework Show” which always gathered family and friends for a good time.
In his professional life, Michael held several lucrative positions. Most recently, Michael worked as a Production Technician for Linde. Michael was known for his hard work, dedication, and integrity. He approached every task with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence that inspired those around him. Michael’s colleagues remember him not only as a skilled professional, but also as a true team player who fostered a positive and collaborative work environment. But above all else, Michael was considered as a good friend by his colleagues.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael’s greatest source of pride and joy was his family. Michael was a loving and proud father, son, brother, uncle, devoted partner, and friend.
Michael’s beautiful children Laila, Myah, and Michael III were the center of his universe. As a dedicated father, he was a pillar of strength and support for his children, always there to provide guidance, love, and encouragement. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in Laila, Myah, and Michael III-values of kindness, resilience, compassion, and unwavering love for family. He reveled in the milestones and achievements of Laila, Maya, and Michael III, celebrating their successes with a beaming smile and unconditional love. Michael was a devoted partner to his significant other, Monica Montgomery, with whom he has been attached at the heart with since 2018.
Michael’s impact extended far beyond the walls of his home. His warm smile and compassionate nature made him a friend to all. Whether it was cracking a joke, sharing a laugh, or simply brightening someone's day with the light of his presence, Michael had a unique ability to connect with people on a profound level.
