MICHAEL BROOKS

Michael Brooks was born to Paul Brooks and Pearl Virginia Baker Summers on January 11, 1948, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. His parents relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in his youth.

Michael attended elementary school in the Indianapolis Public School system, and also attended Crispus Attucks High School.

Michael loved spending his time fishing, and was an avid sports fan who rarely missed a game. These passions brought him great enjoyment throughout his life.

On April 24, 2012, Michael married the love of his life, Daphney Brooks. Together they built a lifetime of cherished memories.

Michael’s amazing personality and warm spirit will be greatly missed by all.

Michael departed his life on May 4, 2026 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents; Paul Brooks and Pearl Baker Summers; stepfather; Stoughton Summers Jr.; son, Michael Brooks, Jr., and brother, Derrick Summers.

Michael leaves to cherish his precious memory and celebrate his life, his wife, Daphney Brooks; daughter, Tammy Brooks; son, Kevin Brooks; sisters, Donna Summers and Danyel Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends that loved him dearly.
