Reflection of Life
Michael L. Andrews, affectionately known as “Haney,” was born on January 23, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Fletcher Andrews and Mary Harden. At an early age, Michael gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Puritan Baptist Church, laying the foundation for the faith that would guide him throughout his life.
Michael received his primary and secondary education through the Indianapolis Public School System. He was a proud Broad Ripple Rocket, where he played varsity basketball. Under the leadership of Coach Bill Smith, Michael not only honed his skills on the court but also built lifelong friendships with teammates who became like family.
Following high school, Michael enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country with honor. During his time in the military, he married Christal Andrews. From this union, they were blessed with one son, Keelan Andrews, who preceded him in death.
After returning home, Michael worked diligently in various roles. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: spending time with family and friends, playing cards, dancing, enjoying sports, and, of course, good food.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Michael transitioned from this life at age 67. He was preceded in death by his father, Fletcher Andrews; his mother, Mary Harden; his beloved grandparents; and his son, Keelan Andrews.
He leaves to cherish his memory his two sisters, Charlene Hubbard, and DeLisa Dickerson (Forrest); his brother, Darvin Lewis (Rhonda); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Michael will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
