Michael Aaron Anderson was born on June 28, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Robert Louis Anderson whom he affectionately called “The General” and Grace M. Meredith Driver. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Early and Mary Taylor, who played a significant role in shaping the man he became. Michael also shared a meaningful bond with his stepmother, Christy Anderson, who remained a steady and supportive presence in his life.
Michael was educated through the Indianapolis Public Schools system and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. He was a hardworking and dedicated individual who held several jobs over the years, always striving to provide for his loved ones especially the love of his life, Sabrina, and to serve others with kindness. In 1996, Michael made a life-changing decision and gave his life to Christ, a commitment that brought him peace, strength, and purpose throughout his remaining years.
Michael shared a deep and lasting bond with Sabrina, the love of his life. Together for over 30 years, their relationship was rooted in friendship, laughter, and unwavering support. They enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, like watching their favorite shows together and spending quiet evenings at home.
In his younger days, Michael enjoyed swimming and playing basketball. He was also proud to be a member of the Black Angels Motorcycle Club, a group that held a special place in his heart.
Michael shared a deep and unbreakable bond with his sister, Penny Jo Torrence, and his niece, Carla Cohen, whom he loved and helped raise as a sister. Their connection was rooted in shared memories, mutual respect, and years of standing by one another through life’s ups and downs. Penny Jo and Carla held a special place in Michael’s heart he leaned on them, laughed with them, and cherished the closeness they shared.
Michael Aaron Anderson departed this earthly life on July 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert “The General” Anderson and Grace M. Meredith Driver; his brothers, Anthony L. Sears and Frank Richard Sears; and his sisters, JoAnn Anderson, Jenny Anderson, and Mary Jane Anderson. He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, Sabrina “Lady” Anderson; his beloved children, Michael Jefferson and Anthony Jefferson; and his surviving siblings: Penny Jo Torrence Flora Darling Robinson, Brenda Driver. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Miana Jefferson, E’maiyah Jefferson, Naomi Jefferson, Amira Jefferson, and Anthony Jefferson Jr. Along with his lifelong best friend and brother at heart, Melvin Lacy. Michael's memory will live on through a host of other loving relatives and friends.
