MELVIN TAYLOR, SR. Obituary

USMC Melvin Francis Taylor, Sr., 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

He was born on Tuesday, January 21,1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of Clifton Joseph Taylor and Ruby Lee Taylor (Farris). He is survived by his wife, Patricia Taylor, and their children, Melvin Francis Taylor, Jr. and Melissa L. Taylor. Siblings are Clifton Joseph Taylor, Sidney Earl Taylor, Evelyn Theresa Taylor (Alexander-Davis); twin brother, Marvin Frederick Taylor Sr., and Michael Anthony (Taylor) Booker. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and   other relatives and friends.

Melvin Taylor, Sr. attended Arsenal Tech High School, and he graduated from Broad Ripple High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps.

Melvin Taylor volunteered for St. Vincent Hospital, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, YMCA, and Missional Food Pantry.

Melvin was so full of life and touched the lives of everyone with whom he came in contact.  Melvin was always full of energy and would often bring a smile. If you came in contact with Melvin, you would never be the same. The neighborhood always knew when Melvin was present.

As a devoted, loving husband and dedicated father, Melvin found great joy in spending time with his family. His greatest achievement was helping and supporting so many people in need. The motto he lived by and leaves as his legacy is, “I can’t make a move without God”
