Marcia Jo Gholston was born on December 16, 1952 to the late Doris Lee and William Gholston in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marcia professed her life to Christ at an early age.
“Jo or JoJo” as she was affectionately called, was a woman who dedicated her life to her family and friends. If you needed her, she was there through anything, good or bad. She was the go to person for practically everyone. Marcia loved to host parties and family gatherings, which she went all out for. Marcia’s two sons William (Billy) and Michael (Spike) were her life, she would do any and everything she could for them no matter what. Marcia loved to cook just about anything, which made her the family's cook for all events taking on the job from her Mother. She also loved her “sexy dressing”, as she would call it, making it hard to tell her real age. Marcia loved to relax and listen to her music and hang out with her “Inner Circle Girls”, whom she named herself.
Marcia attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Crispus Attacks High School. Marcia was a very hard worker who had retired from Steel Work Metals to relax and enjoy life.
Marcia departed this life on Tuesday November 23, 2021 at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her mom, dad, brothers, Larry and Bernard, and grandchildren, William and Dionte.
Marcia is survived by her sons, William and Michael (Liz); brothers, William (Karen), Charles (Belinda), and Gordon; sister, Marsha Merriweather; 13 grandchildren, Lavonda, Nikiya, Shawnice, Lachelle, Alicia, Dashawn, Michael, Mikeya, Malik, William, Jasmine, Breana, William Jr.; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews (whom she treated like they were her own); forever friend, Angela Woods, and a whole list of family and friends who loved her dearly.
