Manuel Lavern Staples Jr., affectionately known to many as “Man-Man,” was born on November 11, 1990, to Ramona Smith Griffin and Manual L. Staples, Sr. He peacefully departed this life on October 7, 2025, surrounded by love.
Manuel was known for his warm spirit, big heart, and love of life. He enjoyed making music and playing baseball—two passions that filled his days with joy. Though he did not have children of his own, he found deep happiness in spending time with his nieces, nephew, and his beloved “g babies,” especially his little “Chicken Nugget” and “Chunky Moma”. Family meant everything to him, and his laughter and kindness left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
Manuel accepted Christ at an early age while attending Little Bethel M.B.C. He attended Broad Ripple High School and later earned his GED through Fathers and Families, showing his determination and drive to succeed.
He will forever be remembered for his joyful energy, sense of humor, and the love he shared so freely. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Manuel leaves to cherish his memory his devoted parents, Ramona Smith Griffin and Manual Staples, Sr.; his loving fiancée, Andrea Felton; his loving sisters, Cecelia Staples and Chardonay Hill; his brothers, Brentus Garrett, Brendon Garrett, and Dionte Staples; bonus kids, Alexzia Scott, Arosieannya Felton, Alexandra Felton; bonus grandchildren, Amouriana Hubbard and Eliyanah Madury along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Angela Glover; grandmother, Centerilla Staples; grandfather, Clarence Allen Smith III; stepfather, Charles Griffin, Jr.; uncle, Charles Staples Jr.; niece, DeAndra Staples, and cousin, Billy Graham.
