Lillie Lesure Grays, daughter of Roger and Irene Lesure was born September 1, 1930. Lillie was the youngest of 9 children who all preceded her in death. She attended public schools in Coldwater, Mississippi.
Lillie professed her faith in Christ at an early age at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Coldwater, Mississippi. Later in life she became a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana where she faithfully served over 40 years until her death.
Lillie was united in Holy Matrimony to Clarence Grays.
Lillie retired from Corn Catering and began working with her brother M.L. at Lesure’s Little Ones, cooking delicious meals for the children.
Lillie Grays was a loving, kind, and devoted person who will long be remembered. She had a personality that just drew people to her. There will be a big void in so many lives because she touched so many people.
Mrs. Lillie Grays departed this life on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Grays; daughter, Debra Walker and granddaughter, Lisa Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memory 2 daughters, Shirley of Memphis, Tennessee and Denice of St. Petersburg, Florida; 4 sons, Elijah (Carla) of Jackson, Mississippi; Edmond Earl (Bessie) of Hernando, Mississippi, William of Memphis, Tennessee and Randy Ray (Pam) of Indianapolis, Indiana; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 28 great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends who truly cherish her memory.
