LEON ANDERSON Obituary

Leon Benjamin Anderson, Jr. was born on January 13, 1995, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Eleanor Edmonds and Leon Anderson, Sr. From an early age, Leon displayed a bright spirit, a generous heart, and a deep love for family, qualities that would define the man he became.

Leon was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System and graduated from John Marshall Community High School in June 2014, where he proudly played football and built friendships. After high school, he worked alongside his mother at Marsh, cherishing the time they shared. He later began a dedicated career with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, faithfully serving for nearly a decade until his health no longer allowed him to continue.

Leon professed his hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age, grounding his life in faith. He was a devoted husband to Samantha Bryant-Anderson and a loving father to Chloe, Warren, Harper, and Louis. His greatest joy came from caring for his family, and he consistently went above and beyond to make life easier for those he loved. Leon shared a special bond with his brother Deon, whose deep love and admiration for him remained unwavering throughout Leon’s life. Leon’s laughter was infectious, and his sense of humor was as large as some of his favorite comedians.

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Leon peacefully transitioned from this life. Leon was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Bertha Mae Anderson; his grandmother, Phyllis Anderson; his grandfather, Michael Dixon; and his niece, Harmony Anderson.

Those who will forever hold him in their hearts include his beloved wife, Samantha and bonus children, Chloe, Warren, Harper, and Louis; his parents, Eleanor Edmonds and Leon Anderson, Sr.; his siblings, Deon Anderson, DeLisa Portis, Kaycee Anderson, Leiana Anderson, and Leon-Ta Anderson; his  grandparents, Terry and Prentiss “Paw-Paw” Jackson, and Leon Finner; his aunt, Ebony Jackson-Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.

Leon’s radiant smile, unforgettable laugh, humble spirit, unwavering work ethic, steadfast loyalty, gentle reassurances of love for his wife and children, and his unmistakably goofy, playful energy will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
