Lavonzell Drain, affectionately known as “Tiny,” passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 58. She was born on August 6, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Tiny received her education at Crispus Attucks High School and began her career in retail merchandising. She was a woman whose warmth, humor, and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met. Tiny had a deep love for singing and was known for her ability to make others laugh with her jokes and quick wit. She cherished spending time with her family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
In her spare time, Tiny enjoyed singing, relaxing outdoors, playing Bible Trivia, and knitting. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, sharing laughter, stories, and special moments. Tiny will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and the love she freely gave to family and friends.
Tiny was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Earl Drain, Sr., Hallie Mae Drain, J.C. Poston, and Ethel Lucille Cole; and her brothers, Norman Harris Jr. (“Storm”) and James Drain III (“Noonie”).
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Brenda A. Poston-Drain; her father, James E. Drain Jr.; stepmother, Essie Drain; sister, Venturia Drain; step brother, Timothy Holliday; step-sisters, Loretta Holliday and Rita Holliday; her beloved children, Tierre Moore, Norisha Andary (Davionna), Breanna Thomas, and Antarius Drain; and her cherished grandchildren, Shakorah, Jericho, Penelope, Reion, Lamar, Elias, Braylen, and Hivaya. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many dear friends.
Though Tiny’s physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through the countless memories she created and the lives she touched. Her love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. “Her smile brightened every room, her laughter lifted every heart, and her love will never be forgotten.”
