KEVIN MATTHEW HALE

Kevin Matthews Hale was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 18, 1960 to the late Thomas C. Hale and Alma Lois Jones Hale. Kevin attended IPS School System and graduated from Arlington High School.

Kevin later moved to Los Angeles, California in 1976. He was employed as a Bus Driver for the Los Angeles Public School System. He returned to Indianapolis in the blizzard of 1978. Kevin later received his license from Cosmetology School and also became a bus driver for the Indianapolis Public School System.

Kevin accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Paran Baptist Church. He later united with Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Theron D. Williams. There he served faithfully singing in the choir.  In July of 2022 he united with Light of the World Baptist Church, under pastorage of his stepfather, Rev. James D. Allen, Sr. He attended church every Sunday to get his praise and worship on. His last worship experience was on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

Kevin loved praising the Lord. He also enjoyed cooking, doing arts and crafts, hairsytling and singing.  He cherished spending time with his family.

Kevin answered his Master’s call on August 31, 2023 at Eskenazi Hospital surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Michael D. Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted sisters, Radonda Maxey and Shon LaRoi; brothers, Mark A. Hale, Marshall E. Maxey of Prembroke, Florida, Stephen L. Maxey (Cheryle), and Jeffrey L. Maxey (Katrina); aunts, Pamela Reason and Hazel Allen; stepfather, Rev. James D. Allen, Sr., five stepbrothers; one stepsister, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Light of the World Baptist Church family.
