Kevin Louis Floyd, affectionately known as “Mouse”, to his friends, was born on May 8, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of the late Bennie Louis Floyd, Jr. and Margaret J. Floyd He was the eldest of three siblings.
Kevin was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System. He attended JK Lilly School #53 and graduated from Arlington High School in 1983. He later furthered his education at Ivy Tech Community College, where he earned a technical certificate in plumbing.
A multi-talented young man, Kevin played football and proudly played percussion and marched in the high school band; however, his true calling was laughter and love. Kevin was the self-appointed “fun director” for his nieces and truly for anyone blessed to have known him. He was known for his playful spirit, famously calling the house pretending to be the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy, spreading smiles wherever he went. Kevin was a lover of westerns and sci-fi movies. He valued fun, leisure and simple joys reminding us all not to take life too seriously.
Kevin Louis Floyd departed this earthly life July 15, 2025. He leaves to cherish his memory of his beloved grandmother, Grace Herbert; siblings, Eric J. Floyd and Lisa Session, and his adored nieces. Sydney, Symone, and Shelby. Kevin's vibrant spirit, humor, and joy will continue to live on in those he loved. He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Antonio Floyd.
