Kenneth Allen Thompson transitioned from his earthly home to his eternal home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 9, 2025. Kenneth was born a twin on January 7, 1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Morris Randall Thompson and the late Christina Elizabeth Lyles Thompson. Kenneth, affectionately known as “Kenny” and “KT,” attended St. Rita Parochial School, Indianapolis Elementary Schools #44, #110, and #71, and John Marshall High School. As a young man, Kenny had a zeal for basketball and hanging out with his friends, but nothing made Kenny happier than when he became a dad and welcomed his “Lil KT"; beloved daughter, Krystle Annette Thompson.
Later in life, Kenny made a loving home with Aleatha Renona Edmondson, his fiancée and best friend. Kenny often said, “Aleatha has my back.” He found contentment and peace in his home with Aleatha, a place where he decided to "park his recliner for the rest of his life." Kenny loved his family, and everyone always felt welcome in his home. He enjoyed watching sporting events with his family and was an avid Pacer and Colts fan.
Kenny worked for Bryant Heating and Air Conditioning until his retirement. Not one to stay idle, Kenny embarked on a second career at Pike High School. This was a great fit for Kenny. He loved working with young people and had a unique ability to provide mentoring through his contagious jovial disposition. Kenny was able to foster trust and connection with students, easing their fears and anxieties. His students lovingly called him “Ken Dog.”
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Randall Thompson and Christina Elizabeth Lyles Thompson, and his brother, Samuel Richard "Dickie" Pierson, Sr. He is survived by his loving life partner; Aleatha “Nona” Edmondson, his daughter; Krystle Annette Thompson, his stepdaughter;Sanetha Ira Miller, his granddaughter; Maliyah Renona Armonwho affectionately called him “Paw-Paw”, his siblings;William Irvin Pierson, Jr., Peggi Marie Phillips, and Keith Randall Thompson (Lanina), many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends who will deeply miss him. Kenny’s legacy is one of hard work, helping others, and instilling joy, love, and laughter. The profound impact of Kenneth Allen Thompson's life will resonate in the hearts of those he touched forever.
