KATHERINE B. DEAN

Katherine Benita Dean was born on January 4, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Shirley Anne Dean and Albert Morris Dean.

Katherine was raised in Indianapolis, where she attended Indianapolis Public School #41. She later attended Our Lady of Highlands School in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and proudly graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.

At an early age, Katherine attended Christ Temple Church, where she developed a foundation of faith that remained with her throughout her life.

Katherine dedicated many years of service to her community through her employment. She worked as a Court Clerk with the Marion County Clerk's Office, was employed by the Indianapolis Public Library downtown, and later worked at Goodwill Industries. She was known as a dependable and hardworking individual who took pride in serving others.

Katherine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching classic movies, listening to old-school music, preparing delicious meals for family and friends, and spending quality time with those she loved. Her warm spirit, caring heart, and welcoming smile made everyone feel at home. She treasured her family and friendships, and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Katherine Benita Dean departed this life surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew her best on July 4, 2026, at the age of 70 years and 6 months. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Morris Dean, and her beloved sister, Vicky Lynn Martinez.

Katherine leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children: two daughters, Katina Dean Idrissa and Tamika Dean Hawkins; one son, Nakia Dean; two brothers, Karl Wesley Baker and Eric Watson; five sisters, Margie Ann Dean, Sharon Dean, Terry Denise Campbell, Robin Elaine Bacon, and Stacy Diane Rice.

She also leaves a host of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many devoted friends, including Lori Mitchell, Edna Clark, Ronnie Burrow, Lena Williams, Ashley Powell, and Patricia McClury, along with countless others whose lives were touched by her kindness, generosity, and love.

Though Katherine's physical presence is no longer with us, her legacy of love, strength, laughter, and devotion to family will remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
