KARON BRUCE Obituary

Kareta Brent and Charles Bruce counted the birth of their son, Karon Bruce, on July 23, 2003 as one of their most sacred blessings. From the beginning, he was a happy, loving and adventurous child. He could bring a smile to almost anyone’s face. He lived in the moment and found joy in spending time with family and friends. He loved his siblings, nieces and nephews and was more than a mere uncle to them; he was like a father, despite his youth. Karon had a creative spirit and lively demeanor. He loved to dance. He was like a medicinal balm when he entered a room because he brought into the space joy and laughter.

From early life, he enjoyed traveling. He looked forward to getting his CDL license so he could travel all over the country and experience various places, people and things. He had a curiosity about learning new things and exploring different dimensions of life.

He began his early childhood education at Little Duckling Day Care and attended Arlington High School in Indianapolis, Indiana before moving to Jackson, Mississippi to live with his mother. He then enrolled at Murrah High School where he earned his high school diploma and graduated.

Karon was a talented young man with broad and diverse interests. He aspired to be a technician and enjoyed tinkering with heating and air conditioning projects. He also loved photography where he demonstrated remarkable skills.  He experimented with picture-taking at every opportunity.  Likewise, he was quite the fashionable dresser, coordinating his attire with head wear and eye-catching shoes, most often his Jordan's.

Far too soon, Karon transitioned from his earthly life on February 26, 2023. His maternal grandfather, Willis A.  Brent, and paternal grandparents, Michael Allen Jacob Bruce and Lois Bruce, predeceased him.

In addition to his mother, Kareta and  father, Charles, he leaves to cherish fun and loving moments of his life with them: a grandmother, Ruthie Young Brent; two sisters, Makaylah and Makylah Brent; two brothers, Jacob Bruce and Anthony Sanders; nephews, Kaleb Brent, Kingston Crenshaw, and Junior Crenshaw; nieces, Ta’Riyah Brent, Ta’Miyah Brent, and Bra’Miyah Penick; uncles, Dewayne Brent, Adam Brent, and Kyle Brent Scott Bruce Martin, Duron Bell; aunts, Kelly Williams and Yolanda Bell; a host of cousins; and a special friend, Billie N. Porter.
