Joseph Leroy Pitts, Jr. was born on October 13, 1991, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Joseph Leroy Pitts, Sr. and Charron Monique Milliken.
Affectionately known as “Lil Joe” by family and friends, Joseph was educated in the Pike Township School System, where he actively participated in JROTC. Following high school, he developed a passion for working with his hands, especially repairing cars, lawn care, and cooking. This brought Joe both joy and purpose.
Joseph was baptized as a young adult at Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor B. E. Houser.
His daughter, Jolonie, was the light of his life. In August 2019, Joseph relocated to Greenville, Texas, to remain close to her and to be actively involved in her life. Their bond was special. It was filled with laughter, play, and cherished moments. They especially enjoyed a three-way FaceTime call of Roblox including his niece, Dalylah.
Joseph will be remembered as the life of the party. He was full of good energy, free of drama, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether cooking a meal or assisting someone with their vehicle, he showed up with a generous spirit. Like his mother, Charron, Joseph had a presence that could brighten any room. He brought joy wherever he went, and the love he had for children was undeniable. Every child adored “Uncle Joe,” and he loved them right back. In his downtime, he enjoyed playing video games and spending time with family.
God called Joseph Leroy Pitts, Jr. home on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the age of 34. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charron Monique Milliken; grandmother, Lorine Leavell; uncle, Benjamin Leavell; and cousin, Freeman Moore III.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Jolonie Pitts; significant other, Shameka Miller; father, Joseph Pitts, Sr.; sisters, Sharmaine Milliken and Jasamine Turentine; brother, Khyrell Gale; uncle, James Milliken; aunts, Ruth Leavell, Andrea Leavell, and Amanda Milliken; grandfathers, XXX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
