The Journey of Jimmy James Robinson
Jimmy James Robinson, known to some as, “Jim Rob”, was born on September 24, 1958, in Phenix City, Alabama, to the late Daisy Lee Robinson and John Henry Robinson. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose life was deeply rooted in family, hard work, and community.
Jimmy graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School, where he made his mark as a talented basketball player, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. In addition to his talent on the court, he was admired for his smooth, clean style of dress. Known affectionately as the “PC Player”, he was well respected in his community and among his peers. He dedicated over ten years of service to the Salvation Army, where he worked faithfully as a Maintenance Supervisor, and he was a proud member of Laborers Local Union, #120.
Jimmy gave his life to Christ at a young age and remained deeply rooted in his faith and love for God throughout his life. Above all, Jimmy loved being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether supporting family businesses, offering advice, or simply spending time together, he was happiest when he was with those he loved.
Jimmy was the proud father of Jennifer Robinson and Julius Thomas, and a loving bonus father to Diamond Hunter. He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather and leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Blake; Julius, Jr.; Jordan; Jase; Juelz; Dustin; Dalaya, and Julian, who brought light and laughter into his life.
Jimmy James Robinson departed this earthly life January 21, 2026. He is survived by his loving sister, Betty, and his beloved brothers, Leroy (Ambret), Cliff (Debrah), Willie (Daphne), and Larry (Sandra). He was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlene, Gladys, Rosetta and Jesse, and his brothers, John and Edward (Nyra). Jimmy also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure his presence and guidance.
