James E. Hudson was born on July 14, 1938, in Canton, Mississippi. He was the son of Jesse Hudson and Mabel Hudson, who preceded him in death. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age at Southern Hill Baptist Church. He attended public school in Mississippi
James eventually moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he made his home. He was employed at Link Belt, and retired in 2000, after thirty-four years of service. James enjoyed fixing things and started his own small engine shop, where he was a blessing to many.
James rededicated his life to Christ at Pathway Missionary Baptist Church. There he attended Sunday School and remained faithful until his death.
James enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, but he loved watching boxing. James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cleo Hudson; sister, Mary Hudson; and daughter, April Hudson.
James touched so many lives and he will be remembered by Kimberly, Aniah, Mary, Heav’n, Charles and Sheila; also by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kaila and Jonika Greene, Malik Finton, Myliah Canady, and Dallas Goldsmith all of Indianapolis, Indiana.
James leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Betty; brothers, W. C. Hudson and Jimmy Hudson of Canton, Mississippi; sons, Jesse, Joe, and James, Jr. of Rochester, New York, Robert Hudson of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters, Johnnie Ruth, and Rose Hudson of New York, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
