Ivan E. Wade was born June 25, 1968, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of Jeffery C. Wade and Lolita L. Thompson.
Ivan professed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Second Greater Baptist Church in Marion, Indiana. Whenever he could recently, he would attend First Freewill Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Ivan attended elementary school in Indianapolis at School #110 and Forest Manor, having attended Clayton Brownlee and Kendall Elementary School in Marion, Indiana. He attended Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis. Ivan was so proud, as was his family, when he received his diploma.
Ivan loved to play basketball, first playing with the PAL Club, and also baseball in Marion, Indiana. He played basketball in the Dust Bowl at Indy Parks. Ivan’s other hobbies included fishing, camping, playing pool, barbequing and of course watching football.
Ivan was a family man and loved his family. He was so proud when his daughter was born, grinning from ear to ear. When he became a grandfather, was another highlight in his life. He loved family gatherings, hanging out with his sister, cousins and friends, joking and filling the room and air with his laughter.
Ivan was joined in Holy Matrimony on September 28, 2019, to Tina Davis
Ivan loved to cook and worked at several restaurants. He moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 2011, and worked at Calhoun County Medical Center. After moving back to Indianapolis in 2016, he started working at Eskenazi Hospital, first as a line cook, and then working his way up to Supervisor in the Ingram Micro Mobility Marketplace. Ivan was also currently working at the CountrySide Meadows Nursing Home in Avon, Indiana part-time. Ivan loved people and everyone loved him and found it easy to communicate with him and respect him as a person and leader.
Ivan departed this life on earth September 17, 2022, at home. at the age of fifty-four years two months and twenty-two days. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffery C. Wade; uncles, Kenneth Strayhorne, Henry Wade, Jesse Martin, Will Martin, Otis Martin, Charles Martin, and John Martin, and aunts, Octavia Williams, Frances Peeler, Ethel Folks, Julia Bradley, Georgia Bea Jackson, Blanche Evans and Susie Dartis .
Ivan E. Wade leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Danielle N. Wade; eight grandchildren, Da’von Wade, Creishawn White, Jaivon Wade, Autumn Wade, Deshawn Wade, Dexion Wade and Dream Wade, all from Indianapolis, Indiana and Lucas Davis, Battle Creek, Michigan; mother, Lolita L. Thompson, Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters, Maria X. Tindall, Indianapolis, Indiana and Tamara T. Wade-Hiebert, Fresno, California; brother, Chantel M. Wade, Fresno California; two uncles, Arthur LaGrange, Indianapolis, Indiana and Charles Wade, Upland, California; two nieces, Serena M. Tindall, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Gabriella Hiebert, Fresno, California; three nephews, Gary A. Tindall, Jr., Indianapolis, Indiana, Kiernan Hiebert and Connor Hiebert, Fresno, California; ex-wife Tina Lucas, Angola, Indiana; his special sports cheerer and barbequing friend, Lorraine Hicks, and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends.
