Glenn Cordell Stockard, 69, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 19, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1956, in Alton, Illinois, to the late John Stockard and Gertha Isabelle (Smith) Stockard. Glenn was one of eleven children, growing up in a large and loving family that shaped his strong sense of loyalty, humor, and resilience.
Glenn moved to Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 12, a place he would proudly call home for the rest of his life. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and later transferred to the United States Army in 1982. He served with honor and discipline, deploying to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm and earning the Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze and Silver Stars.
Education was important to Glenn, and he pursued it wholeheartedly. He earned his associate's degree in accounting from Vincennes University in 1999 and later completed his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2002—accomplishments achieved through hard work, determination, and a lifelong commitment to personal growth.
On February 2, 2003, Glenn devoted his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized at Agape Apostolic Faith Assembly, a commitment that guided him with faith, humility, and love throughout his life.
Professionally, Glenn committed more than 50 years to the Defense Finance & Accounting Service (DFAS). His steadfast work ethic, reliability, and integrity made him a valued colleague and mentor. He took great pride in his work and in the friendships, he formed throughout his career.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Delphia (Cole) Stockard; his two daughters, Vannesa Latrice Stockard and Tia Symone Stockard, and his cherished grandson, Riley Glenn Stockard, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Daryl Stockard, Annette (Stockard) Slack, Celina Stockard, and Bernadette Stockard. Glenn will be remembered for his quiet strength, sharp wit, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. His dedication—to his country, his career, and those he cared for—will remain his enduring legacy.
