Annie Belle Lightfoot was born July 29, 1947, to the late George and Catherine Lightfoot in Lawrence County, Alabama.
With her loving family by her side, Elect Lady Annie Newman of Indianapolis, Indiana, departed this life on Saturday, December 3, 2022, after a short battle with an illness. Annie Newman was preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Lightfoot, four brothers: George Lightfoot, Melvin Lightfoot, Lermis Lightfoot, Michael Hollins; five sisters: Alexine Lightfoot, Marylean Lightfoot, Gladiolus Clay, Rosie E. Davis, and Jacquelyn Lightfoot Lee, and two brothers-in-law: Reed Jones and James Anderson, and one sister-in-law: Janet Brenda Lightfoot.
She was the First Lady of This Rock Apostolic Church where she was a member and served faithful under the leadership of her husband, Bishop Arthur Earl Newman.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Arthur Earl Newman. Four daughters: Cassandra Simmons, Indianapolis, Indiana; Wenetta (Shannon) Luckey, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Reshina (Adrian) Warren, Jacksonville, Florida; Coletta (Richard) Marlin, Indianapolis, Indiana. Two sons: Steven (Felisa), Dallas, Texas; Joseph (Revina), Indianapolis, Indiana. Annie also had a bonus daughter (her sister), Orean (Lee) Edwards, Montevallo, Alabama whom they raised as their own. She leaves to mourn 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 9 bonus grandchildren and 6 bonus great grandchildren. Four sisters, three brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was a loving person with a big heart, and she will be greatly missed by everyone whom she encountered.
