ETHEL WATKINS

Ethel Margurite Watkins was born on December 28, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harry and Martha (Ellington) Willis.

Ethel grew up in Indianapolis and received her education through the Indianapolis Public School System.  She attended Crispus Attacks High School.

Ethel professed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized.

Ethel was a loving mother who doted on her only daughter, Nicki Ballance. Her grandchildren, Joey and Sydney Jarrett, were the loves of her life and they made her life very special.

Ethel and Fred Watkins Jr. were married on June 8, 1991. They enjoyed going to the movies, going out to dinner, and traveling with the Cadillac Club.

Ethel was a daycare provider to many children over the years, which brought her much joy. She provided care for many of Nicki’s friends children and her friends grandchildren. It gave her great pleasure to help raise and nurture them over the years.

Ethel passed on April 18, 2022.  She was preceded in death by sisters, Josephine Caldwell and Georgia (David) Bullock; brothers, Frank Cornell Willis and Harry Willis.

Ethel leaves to cherish her memory husband, Fred Watkins Jr.; daughter, Nicki (Mark) Ballance; sisters, Charlotte Oliver and Cynthia Willis; stepdaughter, Calandra Watkins; grandson, Joseph Jarrett III; granddaughter, Sydney Jarrett; step-grandson, Anthony and Antonio Morman; and a host of nephews, nieces, and close friends.
