EDNA JANETTE BROADUS, daughter of the late Alfred Lindsey Bryant and Bessie McQuillan Bryant, was born on September 11, 1935 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Edna attended the public schools of New Hanover County and was a Godly woman with a special relationship with God. She carried herself with grace and quiet strength, and her faith guided her throughout her life. She was known for her kindness and compassion, always offering encouragement and love to those around her. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin, she cherished her family deeply and created a home filled with warmth and peace. She had a special love for animals and was known for her green thumb, finding joy in nurturing both.
On June 14, 1959, Edna J. Bryant and Clarence D. Broadus were united in holy matrimony in Wilmington, North Carolina, and remained devoted to one another until his passing in 1995. From this union, they were blessed with four daughters: Glenda Muskievicz (George) of University Park, Illinois, Erika Gregory (Kenneth) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nicki Parker (Dean) and Danielle Vohland (Andrew) both of Brownsburg, Indiana.
As a dedicated military spouse, she had the opportunity to live abroad in Germany and Pakistan, supporting her family through each transition with strength and grace before returning to the United States. She eventually settled in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she lived a life filled with love and family and remained until she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 14, 2026. She quietly departed from our world, but never from our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence D. Broadus, and her parents, Alfred Lindsey Bryant and Bessie McQuillan Bryant. She leaves to celebrate her homegoing, in addition to her beloved daughters, Glenda, Erika, Nicki and Danielle; four precious grandchildren, Brandon Lee, Gabrielle Lee, Dominic Lee and Caleb Vohland; four sons-in-law, George Muskievicz, Kenneth Gregory, Dean Parker and Andrew Vohland; one brother, Manning Bryant, of Wilmington, North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and quiet strength. Though she has been called home, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her, and the love she gave will remain in our hearts forever.
