Loving Memories of Dustin Jermaine Evans
Dustin Jermaine Evans was born on March 18, 1986, in Anderson, Indiana, to the proud parents, Lonna Michelle Johnson Miles, Don Evans, and raised by his stepfather Kenneth Burks.
Dustin accepted Christ at an early age and attended The Rock of Faith church in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Arlington High School. Dustin was a hard worker and enjoyed having nice things, so following high school, he began working at CVS Warehouse. He then worked as a security guard for the Metropolitan Protective Services and other security locations.
Dustin was a lover of sports. He enjoyed football, basketball, and wrestling. He often challenged his brother, cousins, and friends as a way to show off his skills. Dustin was also a lover of the performing arts. He could always be found using his artistic talents to bring laughter and joy to others through drawing, acting, dancing, singing, and often being the center of attention. Dustin also grew a fascination with motorcycles. He joined the “Strong Riders” motorcycle club, followed by the “Capital Punishment” motorcycle club.
Dustin married his wife, Erika (Phillips) August 21, 2017. Together they had a blended family of eight children. Dustin loved being a father to his beautiful children and the protective “little big” brother, uncle, and cousin.
Dustin departed this life on April 14, 2022, at the early age of 36. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Evans; grandparents, Clair Welch, Alonia Davis, Roger Welch, and Sherman Evans; aunt, Mary J. Richardson; uncles, Jerry Miles, John Johnson, Bobby Evans, and Willie B. Davis. Dustin will be missed greatly by all who loved and cared for him.
Dustin leaves to cherish in his memory his faithful wife, Erika Evans; children, Savion Gillespie, Tyla, Kamari, Eli, Brandon, Elayja, and Bria Evans; stepson, Louis Calo; mother; Lonna Michelle Johnson Miles (Kenneth Burks), grandparents; Peggy Ann Miles, Ricky Thompson, Calvin Turner (Mary Turner), and Jonna Mae Evans; sibling, Brandon Evans; nephew and niece, Donvan and Da’nya Evans, (Grayson); aunts and uncles, Scott, Sophia, Nicole, Spring, David, Tommy, Melvin, Linda, Carolyn, Donna, Nichelle, Toni, and Calvin Jr., and a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
