DONNA HEAD Obituary

Donna Renee Head was born on August 30, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Levi and Nelda Head, both of whom preceded her in death.

Donna attended Indianapolis Public Schools. When she was a child, she was known for being kind and funny - everyone loved her and she loved everybody. Those same characteristics followed her into adulthood and were especially demonstrated when she and her then companion, Quinton “Pig” Sharp Sr. started a family. Sons Quinton Jr. and Quincy were everything to Donna. She loved and cared for them with her whole heart. From the time they were born and throughout adulthood, Donna would often tell people, “my boys are my world. I love them so much.”

Donna was a caregiver at heart, often stepping up to help others during times of sickness and instability. She lovingly cared for her granny, Iva Lee “Mama Coe,” until her passing in 2019. Donna also displayed compassion for other family members by helping them through illnesses and looking after relatives’ minor children. Donna was very generous and often cooked meals for various family members. Some of her favorite foods were popcorn, beans, and pig feet. She was an incredibly loving person and was always willing to offer a helping hand. In many ways, after Mama Coe passed away, Donna became the family matriarch - always looking out for others.

Donna was an avid traveler. She loved cruises and visiting the Caribbean. Some of her favorite places to visit with her travel buddy Angel Coe were Mexico, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. In addition to traveling, Donna loved gatherings with friends and family, going to the casino, and watching wrestling and football. She was especially proud when her Indianapolis Colts won the Super Bowl in 2007. Donna also loved R&B and old school music and enjoyed listening to singer Jaheim the most.

Because she was raised in the church, Donna had a close and personal relationship with God. She was a faithful person who understood the importance of spirituality and reverence. She loved the Lord immensely and lived her life in a way pleasing to Him.

Donna departed this life on January 19, 2026. She leaves to cherish her memory a long list of loved ones who will miss her deeply including sons, Quinton Sharp Jr. (Myeisha) and Quincy Sharp (Tiffany); grandchildren, Shy’Marriyha, Tanaijha, My’Cayla, and Jenesis; aunt, Doris “Lou” Clay; uncle, Calvin “Bonnie” Penman Sr; first cousins, Freddie Coe, Patricia Lee, Angel Coe, William “Man” Clay, Anthony Clay, Calvin “Stutter” Penman II (Kim), and Lamont Smith; and a host of other family and friends who loved her dearly.

Donna’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and family. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
