A Life Well Lived
Mrs. Diane Virginia Casey Tucker was the daughter of Jack and Virginia Casey born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 25, 1947. The family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended the Indianapolis Public Schools, James Whitcomb Riley School #43 and Shortridge High School graduating in 1966.
Diane married Harold Tucker, Sr. on June 3, 1967, and they were married 56 years. To this union their son, Harold, Jr. “Butch”, was born.
After graduation she began her career at Fort Benjamin Harrison. She retired after 40 plus years of service.
Diane professed a hope in Christ at an early age. She had a unique personality and was forthcoming in expressing herself. She had a heart of gold! She would do anything for anyone! When her parents became ill she took time off work to care for them, and if any of her family or friends were sick, she would call and check on them daily, whether in town or out of town.
Diane would speak her mind; however, everyone knew she was not going to be upset very long! She loved Bingo and the card games with her sister, Jackie, and friends for their birthdays. Diane also had a hidden culinary talent that will truly be missed!
Diane had six joys in her life: her marriage; the birth of her son; the birth of her grandson, KJ, and granddaughter, Asia; her retirement, and two months ago the birth of her great-grandson, Kenneth Jerome Grace.
Even through the heart-breaking loss of her parents and her grandson, Kenneth Jerome Tucker “Handsome”, she knew she was never alone, and the Lord would take care of her.
Diane Virginia Casey Tucker was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will long be remembered and cherished for her radiant personality, laugh and love for people. To know her was to love her and she will truly be missed.
Diane Virginia Casey Tucker departed this life on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jack and Virginia Casey; her in-laws, Lowell and Margaret Granger; brother-in-law, Kenneth Tucker; sister-in-law, Carolyn Tucker; and her loving grandson, Kenneth Jerome Tucker.
