DIADRIENNE FERGUSON Obituary

Diadriene Lamar Ferguson was born to Darlene Nibbs and Jeffrey Ferguson, April 17, 1990, in San Diego, California.

His mom and siblings later moved to West Palm Beach, Florida before settling here in Indianapolis, Indiana. His mom Darlene and siblings were members of Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church.  As a teenager he was saved and received the Holy Ghost as a faithful member and servant of the Lord at Victory Tabernacle Apostolic Church until his health failed.

Diadriene attended Indianapolis Public School System and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, where he made lasting impressions both on and off the tennis court. As a proud member of JROTC, Diadriene showed his commitment to leadership and camaraderie. He later pursued higher education at Indiana Technical Institute, earning his associate’s degree, a testament to his perseverance and dedication.

Beyond his academic achievements, Diadriene had an undeniable passion for basketball and anime, especially beloved series like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto Shippuden. Family members cherish memories of lively debates in the kitchen, where Diadriene would passionately argue why Goku could outmatch any opponent or why he thought the third hokage did well protecting Naruto, drawing laughter from everyone—even those less familiar with anime. His quirky sense of humor shone brightest during casual family time in the kitchen, when he’d playfully challenge his siblings to    friendly debates on just about any topic.

In addition to his love for sports and anime, Diadriene’s faith was a guiding light throughout his life. He found solace and strength in worship music and devoted hours to studying the word of God, often sharing passages that inspired him with those around him. Diadriene sat with a friend who was having a hard day for hours, listening without judgment and offering comforting words rooted in his faith. His ability to pour kindness into others left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Reflecting on Diadriene’s life, his family shares that what they will miss most is his unwavering positivity and the way he made each person feel seen and valued. His siblings remember the warmth of his embrace and the wisdom he imparted during quiet moments together. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the joy, laughter, and love Diadriene brought into our lives. He was more than a brother, son, and friend—he was the heart of our family, and we will carry his spirit with us always.

Diadriene is survived by his father, Jeffrey; sisters, Felicia (John) Fitzpatrick, Briana Grant, and Deborah Nibbs; brothers, Isaac (Stacy) Nibbs and Clarence Grant; grandparents, David and Connie Nibbs; two nieces; four nephews; and other relatives.
