Delman Anthony Alexander, Sr. was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 6, 1960, to Jerry Turner, Sr. and Marian Barnett. He was the eldest of all his siblings.
Delman, affectionately known as, “Heady”, received his education through the Indianapolis Public School System. He attended School #44 Riverside, and he graduated from Northwest High School in 1979.
After graduation, Delman Anthony Alexander, Sr. became a great mechanic. His employer, Sears, Roebuck and Company, recognized his potential and sponsored him to attend mechanic trade school in Chicago, Illinois. He was also employed at the Cozy Lounge.
Delman Anthony Alexander, Sr. and Akila Ramsey were joined in matrimony on April 13, 2003. They remained dear friends until his passing.
Delman Anthony Alexander, Sr. was baptized and became a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He believed strongly in the power of prayer and even kept alarms set on his phone, day and night, ensuring that he prayed.
The original “JunkYard King”, “Heady,” loved to gamble. Whether it was his favorite pastime of visiting pea shake houses around the city, placing bets at the Winners Circle downtown, or his frequent trips to the casino, no matter what—Heady was always somewhere getting to the money.
Heady was always helping people and would do everything he could for anyone in need. He was fiercely loyal, protective, and he cherished and maintained friendships with people of all ages, and from all walks of life. He found joy in helping others, and he was both well-liked and respected by many. Heady was welcomed wherever he went, he also enjoyed assisting his niece, Tiffany Lewis, set up for her events. Heady loved the Indianapolis Colts and truly bled blue.
Delman Anthony Alexander, Sr. gained his wings and made his passage to Glory on December 23, 2025, at the age of 65 years 2 months and 18 days. Heady was a good friend, father and father figure to many, and a loving brother who will truly be missed by all the many lives he touched.
Delman Anthony Alexander, Sr. was preceded in death by his daughter, Dominique Berryhill; his mother, Marian Barnett; his father, Jerry Turner, Sr.; and his beloved grandparents, Blake, Sr. and Roberta Alexander.
Delman Anthony Alexander, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory his children Erikka Wellington, Delman Anthony Alexander, Jr., Delmanisha Ramsey, and Delmon Alexander; bonus children, David Mallory, and Donamisha Ramsey; grandchildren, Jalen, Billie, Dariah, Ayce, Anthony, Ember, DaMario, Sakai, and Mila; his siblings, Tracy Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Sr., Temika Lawrence, Lisa Haynes, Risa Haynes, Selene Johnson, Kenisha Ea ns, Shonnequa Turner, Rochelle Turner, Krystal Turner, and Jerry Turner, Jr.; his last living, great-aunt, Amanda Fryer “Aunt Louise,”; his best friends, Rodney Gough and Alice Drake, and a large host of nieces and nephews, countless cousins, other family members, and many, many friends.
