Her Life Story

Ms. Deborrah Elouise Patton was born December 26, 1957 to James S. and Cosmo L. Duerson.

Deborrah, “Debbie” as she was affectionately known, attended schools in Washington Township graduating from North Central High School c/o ‘76. She then pursued her college degree at I.U.P.U.I and many years later received her culinary degree through Second Helpings. Cooking was something Debbie loved doing and many will remember the meals she cooked and served with love.

Debbie spent her years of employment working in customer service and on 1999, began working for T.J. Maxx, once she planted her feet there she never looked back. “Ms. Deb” as her Maxx family called worked all over the store in different departments always greeting everyone with her beautiful smile. Giving 25 years of her devotion Ms. Deb was still actively employed with T.J. Maxx.

Deborrah didn’t come into this world alone 25 minutes later her twin sister was born, the bond between them could not be broken Debbie loved her sister. Deborrah gave birth to her first child in 1975 and five years later the “triplets” were born. Debbie spent her life loving her children and doing all that she could when she could. In her spare time Debbie loved to read, watch movies and spend time with her family. In 1996 her first grandchild was born, Debbie loved her grandchildren and was always so proud of each of their accomplishments. From birthdays to holidays she was always around loving on them showing them how important they were. As her health began to decline in the later years she couldn’t always get out and spend time with the family, but she couldn’t miss calling the grandchildren for their annual birthday song from Mama Debbie! She loved her children and grandchildren but when her great grandchildren came, they stole her heart.

Despite her health issues she always pushed herself to keep going, she lived her life without worry often saying “My father got me” her faith never wavered and even in her darkest moments she always knew to seek GOD.

Deborrah departed this life on March 15, 2024 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Jahnaya Bakare.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Jason Edward, Delvon Eugene, Delena Evan and Devon Elaine Rascoe; twin sister, Rebecca Louise Duerson; ten grandchildren; four great-granddaughters and one on the way; and nephew and niece, Ceylon and Christina Hunt. Debbie will truly be missed by her Maxx and Lucille Raines family and close friend, Barry Kissick (her brother from another mother) and a host of other family and friends.
