Ms. Deborah Elzy was born September 20. 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the daughter of James Elzy and Cornelia Cerron Elzy. Raised into a military family, they spent time in Wyoming before returning to her roots in Indianapolis. It was in that city, that she professed a belief in Christ. She was baptized by Elder Rufus Hicks at Open Door Missionary Church.
She received her primary and secondary education in the local area schools. Deborah completed her studies in the Indianapolis Public School System.
Deborah was known to many, and she always had smile. She was employed as a cashier at Walgreens Pharmacy for over thirty years.
Deborah departed this earthly life July 8, 2025, at the age of seventy-four years nine months and eighteen days, in the care of loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Avery, and a sister, Ceretha Louise Elzy.
Those she leaves to continue in her legacy include two sons, Kevin (Lynetta) Elzy, and James Duane (Laniece) Elzy, and daughters, Regina Elzy and Theresa Elzy, a host of grandchildren and a plethora of great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Elzy; brother, Reggie Elzy, many other relatives and friends.
