Deacon George E. Trotter, III was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on September 27, 1944. He was the son of George E. Trotter, Jr. and Kathleen Louise Pigg Trotter.
George with his family relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1948. He received his formal education in the Indianapolis Public School System, and he attended Crispus Attucks High School. He went on to enlist to serve in the United States Marine Corps in 1966. He attained the rank of E-5 and served his country in the Vietnam War.
George was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary K. Wyatt on March 24, 1964. To this union was born three beautiful daughters, who were the apples of their father’s eye.
After his military career, George returned to Indianapolis and embarked upon a career with The Chrysler Corporation. He was employed in the Chrysler Foundry, where he worked for 33 years before retiring as a melting supervisor. He was a member of the United Auto Worker’s Union, Local #550.
In his early teenage years George accepted Christ and he was baptized in Jesus’ Name. He attended Jerusalem Temple Apostolic Church under the pastorate of then Elder Edwin Vaughn, where he was united in Holy Matrimony. In 1977, he became a member of Grace Apostolic church under the pastoral leadership of the late great Bishop Morris Ellis Golder. George served as an usher and on the Brotherhood Board.
In 2001, he answered the call to be a charter and founding member of Temple of Praise Assembly under the Bishop Donald L. Golder. Deacon Trotter served on the Executive Board and was part of the Security Ministry. George was a faithful and loyal Deacon. He opened the church whenever needed. He always had a smile and kind words for everyone he came across.
George departed this world on November 9, 2023, at 7:40 a.m. at the age of 79 years and 2 months. He was preceded in death by his father, George E. Trotter, Jr.; his mother, Kathleen L. Pigg Trotter, and his two beloved daughters, Angela Rochelle Trotter-Lasley and April Yvonne Lopez- Rogue.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Wyatt Trotter; daughter, Nicole Trotter; adopted son, Royce N. Kelly (Jennifer); his sole remaining brother, Rev. Dr. Thomas Trotter (Sandra), ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, Saints and friends.
