David Bryan Jones departed this world on September 4, 2023. He was cherished as a Father; Son; Brother; and Grandfather to his loved ones and family, a dear friend to many, and a beacon of light in our lives. David’s journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
Born on April 2, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Jerry Jones, Sr. and Deloris Jones, he was lovingly nurtured by his paternal grandmother, Mary Phelps Jones. David was remarkable individual who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He possessed an unwavering zest for life, an infectious smile, and a kind and compassionate soul. His presence could light up any room, and his genuine warmth and love for others left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
Throughout his life, David was a shining example of resilience and determination. He faced challenges head-on, never wavering in his pursuit of personal and professional growth. His unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence propelled him to achieve great success in carrying on his family’s legacy as a Cook, Manager, and Operator at Bar- B-Q Heaven, Inc. David was not only admired for his professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering dedication to family and friends.
Beyond his professional pursuits, David had a deep passion for cooking, drag racing, dancing, and providing a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was telling jokes, he found solace and joy in these endeavors. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he often inspired others to explore their own passions and embrace life's adventures.
Above all, David cherished his role as a father. He was a pillar of strength and support, always ready to lend a listening ear or offer words of wisdom. His love knew no bounds, and his family was the center of his universe. David leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion that will forever be treasured by his children and family.
As we bid farewell to David, let us remember him not with sorrow but with gratitude for the beautiful memories we shared. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us to live each day humble, appreciative, without regret, and to the fullest.
David was preceded in death by his eldest son, Kaicey Jones; his mother, Deloris Barton-Jones; his youngest brother, Hombre Jones; his uncle, Forrest T. Jones, and a nephew, Gregory A. Pope.
Survivors cherishing his life and memories include his daughters, Ashley Jones (Andrew Bigbee), Mary Jones (Robbie Cole), and Courtney Jones (Eli Robinson, Sr.); his sons, Matthew Jones and Kyle (Nade’) Jones; his seventeen grandchildren, Devin, Demi, Amilian, Josiah, Brooklyn, Corey, Carli, Jeremiah, Eli Jr., Aiden, La’Niyah, Kaicey, Chandler, Robbie, Kamiya, Mariah, and Kaicen; his father, Jerry A. Jones, Sr.; his uncle, Ronald F. Jones; his sisters, Cheri Jones-Bradford, Christine Jones, Lisa Roberson, Karen Jones-McKee, and Trina Jones; brothers, Todd Northington, Jerry A. Jones Jr., and Terry K. Wilson; and lifelong friend Gerald Pate.
