Brief Sketch of Life
Mr. Craig LaRue Dodson was born June 25, 1956 to Robert and Connie Louise Dodson. Craig was the third of five siblings. Craig received his education in the Indianapolis Public Schools where he attended Shortridge High School and later graduated. Craig was employed by Essentra for many years before moving to Liberty, Missouri in 2017 giving his hand in matrimony to Kimberly. Craig later retired from Standard Aero.
Craig accepted Christ into his life at Transforming Life Church where he faithfully served the Lord for over seventeen years as a Deacon and served in both the Unseen Hands Ministry and Standing in the Gap Food Pantry. He also volunteered in the community and could always be found ministering to those in our city who found themselves destitute. Craig was boldly filled with passion for the Kingdom of God and loved to pray, read and study the Bible.
Craig was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. Craig enjoyed family gatherings and spending quality time with his friends. Craig was known for being an immaculate dresser. He loved fashion and colors. He also loved car shows, music and just riding through the parks with his buddy. Craig had a special bond with each of his siblings. He also had a charming personality added with a witty sense of humor.
Craig departed this life on November 13, 2023 at the age of sixty-seven. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Dodson, father, Robert Dodson, Sr., Robert Dodson, Jr. and Michael Dodson.
Craig leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kimberly Dodson; daughter, Shantel Dodson; sister, Laura Smith; brother, George (Elaine); a host of bonus children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
