Mrs. Constance Davis was born on February 22, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the eldest daughter of eight other siblings born to Ross Irvin and Rosa Bell Irvin (Hopson, Haynes) who both preceded her in death. Her brothers, Tommy and Carl, and sisters, Helen and Shirley, also preceded her in death.
Connie attended Indianapolis Public School #87 and graduated from Shortridge High School. She later went on to college, graduating from Indiana University and obtaining her bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Management. In addition, she earned her bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Aenon Bible College.
After high school, Mom worked at Eddy’s Drive Inn, and then Fort Benjamin Harrison. She left there and went to work for USAir Airlines as a Reservationist. She was afforded the opportunity to travel the world. She later went back to Fort Benjamin Harrison, where she retired in December 2012
Connie was united in holy matrimony to Leonard Filmore Davis, III on April 8, 1967 (he preceded her in death). To this union was born two daughters, Jill Maria Davis Jones (Gerald) and Jacquelyn Rochelle Davis Willoughby (Anthony)
Connie accepted JESUS as her Saviour and was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. She joined Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Faith Church, where she remained until her death. She served the Lord with joy on the Usher Board and teaching Sunday school. Whenever the church had friends and family day, Mom would strive to win every year bringing in the most souls. We called her, “Evangelist”.
Our Mother LOVED people. She was recently asked what do you enjoy or value most. She said “Making Friends”. Mom had a gift for drawing people to her but really it was Christ in her. She was a kind hearted and giving person. She would give you the shirt off her back or her last dollar.
After our dad died, Mom said the Lord wanted her to help children without parents, that is when she became a foster mom. She was and is affectionately known as, “Mama Connie”. She became the mother of Deserico Montez Davis and D’angela Jona’ Davis. She was a foster mom to a lot of children, and Roseda Evans was her 1st foster daughter. Roseda’s children are Lexy, Rishad. Nakia, Darius, Darion, and Calion. She fostered many more children.
Mom departed this life at 76 years 6 months and 19 days on September 19, 2022, at 12:57 pm. She was at home surrounded by her children, family, and friends holding her hand. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jill Maria Jones (Gerald), Jacquelyn Rochelle Willoughby (Anthony), Deserico Davis, D’angela Davis, Lexy Evans, Rishad Wright; her six grandchildren, David Bridgeforth, Jonathon Bridgeforth, Joshua Willoughby, Josiah Willoughby, Isaiah Willoughby, and Dakota Davis; her great granddaughter, Imani Willoughby; her sisters, Diane Burt and Cynthia Brown (Gene); brothers, Mark Irvin (Deloris) and Wesley Irvin (Mary), a host of generations of nieces and nephews, other family, Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church family, friends and co-workers.
