Clarence Rowland Jr. was born on September 24, 1950, to Eleanor and Clarence Rowland Sr. in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He graduated from John Muir high school in Pasadena, California. It was in California that he spent most of his younger years and where he met the love of his life, Kathy Huante. Although Papa was a rolling stone and had other love interests before Kathy, they were inseparable until her untimely death in 2021.
Clarence loved barbequing, his shades, partying and watching his favorite classic shows, but above all of that he loved music. He was like a walking jukebox, anytime anyone would play or sing a song that he knew; he would say, “What you know about that,” and would proceed with telling you the history about the song. Clarence was a jack of all trades and was great with his hands. He also loved his cat, Socks and Socks definitely loved him.
Clarence Rowland Jr. departed this life on November 20, 2025, at the age of seventy-five years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Clarence Rowland Sr.; his wife, Kathy Rowland; his brother, Keith Rowland, and granddaughters, Briana and Khadijah Rowland.
He leaves a legacy of love to his children Renee’, Amanda, Chateè, Ronnie, Amber, Chief, Clarence III, and Di’Jon Rowland; his niece, Shelitta; nephew, Royce (Korky) Rowland; twenty-four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great nephews, and a host of family and friends.
