Chauncey William Dee Edmonds, affectionately known as “Dee”, age 41, transitioned from this earthly life on August 29, 2025, in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Dee was born May 25, 1984, to the father, Chauncey Wheeler, and the mother, Karen Wheeler. He was born in the city of Indianapolis, and raised in Gary, Indiana. In his childhood, he enjoyed riding bikes, playing with action figures, and watching movies with his younger siblings, Traci and Nicole “Nikki”. He also was a talented artist.
He attended Horace Mann High School, where he was a social butterfly as he had a true gift of connecting with people. He served his country as a war veteran in the U. S. Army, after enlisting in 2005. He thoroughly enjoyed every moment of fatherhood, spoiling his kids with love and taking them on many adventures, singing songs, and watching movies.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William E. Wheeler, grandmother, Mildred Wheeler, and maternal grandmother and grandfather, Eva Edmonds-Tyson and Marvin Edmonds.
He is survived by his father, Chauncey (and Regina Wheeler), mother, Karen Denise Wheeler; his sisters, Traci Edmonds and Nicole “Nikki” Wheeler; his children, Adonis Edmonds, Wyatt Sprouse, and Akiyra Edmonds, and a host of other relatives, which includes aunts, and uncles, cousins, and friends who cherished him.
