Charyesse Nicole Phillips, affectionately known as “Ryesse", was born August 19, 2002, at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Charyesse attended Holy Angels Catholic Church as a youth with her maternal grandparents, Reginald and Robin Temple, where she accepted the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Charyesse began her education at the Jewish Community Center and Fox Hill Elementary. She went on to Northview Middle School, where she learned to play the violin. She attended North Central High School, where she studied culinary arts and graduated in 2020. Ryesse attended Ivy Tech in Indianapolis, where she continued her Culinary Studies.
Ryesse loved playing softball while in Junior High School and expressed herself through her drama performances at North Central High. She also attended Drama Summer Camp at Butler University. Ryesse joined the Rugby Team in her Senior year at North Central.
Charyesse began her working career at The Jewish Community Center at the fitness desk. She progressed to Seasonal Café Manager, where she loved baking Challah Bread.
Ryesse enjoyed other job interests including Marshalls, Baby Gap, and Crumbl Cookie before her most recent job as a Stock Manager at Old Navy. Ryesse loved trying foreign and exotic foods, video games, wearing her “big afro" and big butterfly lashes. Ryesse loved life and always had the loudest laugh in the room.
Charyesse Nicole Phillips departed this earthly life on Monday, October 30, 2023. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Thomas Hayes.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her father, Eric N. Phillips; mother, Brandye N. Phillips; brother, Eric B. Phillips; paternal grandparents, Frank “Paw Paw” Phillips and Shirley Reed; maternal grandparents, Reginald “Paw Paw” and Robin ”Nonni" Temple; uncles, Aaron (Robynn) and Frank Phillips, Reginald Temple II, Thomas and Michael (Rebecca) Hayes, James Stoepker; aunts, Tina Reed, Katonia Alademerin, Maija Solaja, Bridget, Anna, Rose and Madison Hayes, Adryanne Hollaert, and Allison Temple; great-grandmothers, Rose M. Folks "Grandma Rose”, Sue Ann Lane “Gigi”, and a host of family members and friends.
