CHARMAINE MICKENS

Charmaine Marquitte Mickens was born on September 8, 1963 in Gary, Indiana to Mr. James Washington and Ms. Elise Shaffer. 

Charmaine lived most of her life in Gary, Indiana and moved to Indianapolis when she was 28 years old.  She attended Lew Wallace High School and graduated in 1981

In 2002 she opened her own salon, Buttons & Bows Nail & Hair Salon, where she worked and was owner for over 22 years.

Charmaine was full of life, laughter, and love. She was a true woman of God.  She always encouraged and inspired others everywhere she went. 

Charmaine Mickens departed this earthly life on June 28, 2022, at the age of 58 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Temeka Huggins; and brother, Ira Bell.

Charmaine leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Tiffanny Mickens; son, Adrian Mickens Jr. (Danielle); 4 grandchildren, Kaleb Mack, Tameka Mickens, Adrian Mickens III, Kobe Mickens; sisters, Sharon Peterson, Patsy Lowery; nieces, Kanesha Peterson, Kimberly Peterson, Tabytha Cotright; nephew, Tony Peterson Jr., Christin Grice, Tarance Cotright; aunt, Elenor Carter; and a host of cousins, and friends. 

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
