On September 20, 2025, God whispered, and called Carolyn Annette Bennett (65) home to rest in His loving arms. Carolyn was born to Corine (Jones) Hunt on December 31, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN. A very short time later LeRoy B. Hunt was blessed to officially become Carolyn's Dad.
Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis and graduated from North Central High School in 1978. After graduating Carolyn made a very decisive decision to serve her country. She enlisted in the United States Navy, where she proudly served and received an Honorable Discharge.
In 1985 Carolyn met the love of her life, Michael S. Bennett. After dating for 3 years, they were married on December 31, 1988. Carolyn and Mike were married for 36 years.
Never shying from honest work Carolyn explored various career paths, which included healthcare, warehouse, and factory rolls. She later decided to attend Fortis College to pursue a degree in Medical Assistant. Carolyn continuously stayed on the Dean's list and graduated with Honors. In late 2024, Carolyn decided it was time to retire, and that she did after dedicated service at Heartland Bakery.
Carolyn confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was member of Eastern Star Church of Indianapolis where she faithfully served as a Greeter, until her health began to fail.
Carolyn was the 4th youngest of nine children. Carolyn was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Auntie. Carolyn was a lovely ball of life.
Carolyn was very family orientated and she loved spending time with Loved Ones. Carolyn enjoyed cooking and was awesomely good at it. It was anything for her to prepare 10 or more dishes plus desserts for a Holiday Feast, or any family get together, where the dishes were handsomely presented on the dining area table, and countertops. Carolyn also enjoyed crafting. There was a time when she would hand make all of her ornaments for their Christmas tree every year. Different ornaments every year, that's talent and one of Carolyn's relaxing pass times. She enjoyed playing Candy Crush and really enjoyed watching Westerns, often saying, "I'm out West", a playful reflection of the freedom and inner peace she carried.
Carolyn leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by her husband, Michael S. Bennett, her daughter, Candice Crumpton, Mobile, AL, loving daughters, LaTasha Holmes and Michelle Childs, North Augusta, SC; her grandchildren, Corriana Crumpton, Michael Wilson, and Ca'Mya Crumpton, Mobile, AL, Mercedes Holmes, LaNia Holmes, LaTasha Holmes, North Augusta, SC, Kevin Barnwell, Crislyn Johnson, and Ky Childs, North Augusta, SC; and her great-grandchildren, Candace Kay Crumpton and Kayden Ballard, Mobile, AL
She is survived by her father, LeRoy B. Hunt, Indianapolis, IN; her sisters, Renee L. (William) Jones, Waukegan, IL, Sierra L. Hunt, Indianapolis, IN; her brothers, Jerome E. (Iris) Hunt, Fayetteville, NC, Anthony W. Hunt, Florence, AL, Vincent A. Hunt, Tallahassee, FL, Justin B. Hunt, Indianapolis, IN, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her mother, Corine Hunt; her brother, Ronald Gilbert Jones; and her sister Rebecca D. Scott.
