CARLA CONWELL

Carla Renee Conwell born on September 6, 1956, in Indianapolis Indiana to the late James Edward and Georgia B. Driver Conwell.

Carla was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System. At an early she was baptized in accordance with the Holy Rites of the Roman Catholic Church at Saint Rita Catholic Church. She was an    active member of the Saint Rita Usher Board, where she served   faithfully until her health started to fail. She was also an active member of the Knights of Saint Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Christ the King Court #97.

Carla was a quiet, fun-loving person who always had a smile on her face. She had a remarkable gift of remembering all her family member’s birthdays, no matter where you were on the family tree. You could always count on receiving a call on your birthday, and sometimes she was the first call of the day.

Carla enjoyed family vacation planning and celebrating.  If the family was discussing taking a cruise, her suggestion was, "Make it a long one”. She really enjoyed cruising, it did not matter what the destination, she loved cruising.

In the early hours of April 27, 2026, Carla embarked on her   Celestial journey to her Heavenly family reunion and home after a somewhat short illness. Carla was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Larry S. Conwell, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Eric S. (Maxine) Conwell, Sr.; sister, Trina Conwell; brothers, Kerry (Patricia) Conwell, Jerry (Deborah) Conwell and Todd (Sharletta B.) McKinney;    granddaughter, Iayiana R. Kimbrough; grandsons, Isiah D. Kimbrough, Eric S. Conwell, Jr., Eriyon D. Conwell, and Dariyon L. Conwell; an aunt, Emma L. McKinney, and a host of relatives and friends.
