Brother Booker T. Posley was the son of Prince and Augusta Posley, was born in West Point, Mississippi on June 1, 1925.
Booker was education in the public school system in Mississippi and later graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He continued his education at Chicago Technical Institute and received certification in television repair.
In 1949, Booker married Willetta (Secrest) Posley and from this union, Gregory Posley and Willetta “Tootie” Johnson were born.
Booker gave his life to the Lord as a young man, serving at Mount Olive Baptist Church for over 70 years as a Sunday School Teacher and Bible Class Instructor. He was also often a guest speaker at several churches throughout Indianapolis, Indiana.
Booker also was a semi-professional bowler and enjoyed football and basketball. He especially enjoyed watching his two great-grandsons play or hearing about how they played. He also loved reading and studying God’s word.
Booker worked at Hyde Grade for several years and later worked at General Motors until he retired.
Booker T. Posley departed this life on February 19, 2021 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prince and Augusta Posley; his wife, Willetta Posley and granddaughter, Brittany L. Johnson.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Gregory; daughter, Willetta “Tootie”; three granddaughters, Cherise, Kellee, Ashley (Michael); three great-grandsons, Andre, Amir, Michael, Jr.; three great-granddaughters, Kaliyah, Kalyn and Ka’lee and a host of other relatives and friends.
