Bonita Mae (Busby) Vaughn was born on September 23, 1955, to the late Richard H. and Iris Mae Busby. Bonita attended School #43 and graduated from Shortridge High School in 1972. She furthered her education at Indiana Business College and Martin University.
Bonita was married to Chester Hayes, and to this union, they had one daughter, Brittani Hayes. In her later years, Bonita married Elder Aaron Vaughn on November 11, 1991.
Bonita had a passion for singing, writing music, and sewing. She was also a devoted woman of God, whose faith was central to her life.
On March 25, 2025, the Lord called Bonita to eternal rest at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Richard Busby, Jr. and Hugh Barfield, and her husband, Elder Aaron Vaughn.
Bonita leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Brittani Hayes; four grandchildren, Alicia Robinson, Daquawn Robinson, Sylar Jackson, and Dante Bigbee; one great-grandchild; stepsons, Brian Vaughn and Michael Vaughn; sisters, Jacqueline Elam of Hickman, Kentucky, and Roslyn Busby; brothers, Glenn Busby and Darron Busby, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
