Bilal F. Mustafaa (aka Kevin D. Kyner) was born on January 3, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the his parents, Jo Kelley and the late Montgomery Kyner.
He attended John Marshall High School and later received his GED. He served in the Army Reserves and the National Guards for nine years and was awarded an Honorable Discharge in 1989.
He was affectionately called “B” and “Kevin”. He enjoyed listening to music, reading books, and in his free time he loved to dance. He was humorous and everybody knew him as a fun-loving person.
After a brief illness, he departed this life on September 27, 2025, at the age of 59 years, 9 months, and 27 days. He gave his life as an organ donor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Harrell-Kyner; his father, Montgomery Kyner; brother, Eric; and two grandchildren, Jaden and Jordan Kyner.
Bilal leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his three sons, Joshua, Mario, and Christopher Kyner; mother, Jo Kelley; brother, David Phams; sister, Daphne Wright; thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
