Andrew Tyler, Jr. was born on December 4, 1945, in Canton Mississippi. He was the son of the late Andrew Tyler, Sr. and Alma Jackson.
Andrew, affectionately known as “Drew”, by his family and friends, relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1951. He completed his primary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. He graduated from Harry E. Wood High School. After graduating, Andrew joined the Job Corps earning certification as a welder.
He was hired by Allison’s, where he worked until retirement in 1996. His second retirement was with the Teamsters Union, Local #122, helping to construct the forensic laboratory at West 16th and Rev. Dr. M.L.K. street.
Andrew enjoyed going to the casino until his health began to decline. He also enjoyed basketball and football.
Andrew departed this earthly life on November 29, 2025, at the age of seventy-nine years.
He is survived by his stepmother, Lois E. Tyler, the family matriarch; his son, Andrew Tyler, III; daughters, Alesia A. Redden Andrew Sanders-Pardue; Jerrena Conley-Morgan (Torrence); stepbrother, Elvin Anderson (Vivian); sisters, Sylvia Tyler, Nellie Robinson and Lauretta Lockhart; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
