Allen Corinthius Sanders, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, January 28th, 2026. He was born on March 4th, 1963, to Willie Corinthius Sanders and Shirley Jean Mason in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the first-born grandchild of Eugene and Edna Mason. Allen attended grade school at Indianapolis Public School #76, from kindergarten to junior high school. He attended junior high school at Mapleton Fall Creek and later graduated from Northwest High School. Allen and his family attended Bethesda Temple Church. It was there that he was baptized in Jesus’s name and filled with the gift of the holy ghost.
In Allen’s younger years, he attended Dick Hendricks Karate School and achieved a black belt. He was an undefeated champion and spent time in different tournaments throughout the state of Indiana. Allen took pride in volunteering at his uncle’s renowned charity at the Mozel Sanders Foundation, Inc., in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1983, Allen and his family moved to Southfield, Michigan. He made the honorable decision to enlist in the United States Army. Upon his return, Allen followed in his father’s footsteps and accepted a Route Salesman role at Wonder Bread in Detroit, Michigan. Throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s, Allen worked in various roles and capacities supporting his family’s businesses; Bon Ton Hair Studios, Interstate Jobbers Men’s Clothing, Spanky’s Coney Island, and Sanders Quality Lawncare.
While attending cosmetology school in Southfield, Michigan, he met his wife, Darcy Garner. In that marriage, they had two children, Amir and Aliah Sanders. Allen enjoyed life to the fullest being a music connoisseur, with a passion for travel, fashion, and being the life of the party when spending time with family and friends. Allen had a huge heart always willing to help those he cared for.
He was survived by his wife, Darcy Sanders; his mother, Shirley Jean Burris; his mother-in-law, Theatrice Sanders; his siblings, Maurice Davis, Eric Sanders, Atoye (Shawnte) Sanders, Regina Sanders, Angela Faye Allen, Shauna Burris, Monica Burris, and Desiree Burris; his sister and brothers in law, Nichelle Kirksey, James Lee Kirksey, Jr., and Curtis (Tomika) Kirksey; his children, Kionna Cooper, Alex Corinthius Sanders, Ashli Sanders, Amir Sanders, and Aliah Sanders; his Goddaughter, Toya, several grandchildren, a great-grandchild; Marshall Medcalf, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Corinthius Sanders; his son, Allen Corinthius Jackson Sr.; his mother-in-law, Annie Ruth Kirksey; his nephew, Sean “Diddy” Edwards, and his stepbrother Lamar Craig.
