Brief Sketch of Life

Angela Denise Cole was born on January 23, 1968 in Jackson,  Tennessee.  She was the second child and daughter of Willie Dan Cole and Hattie Pearl Cole.

Angela confessed her hope in Christ at an early age.  She was a faithful member of First Samuel Holistic Ministries.  As a child she sang in the youth choir, she was a junior nurse, senior usher, she was a member of the junior Isorette band and also a junior usher trainer assistant.  She loved her church.

Angela attended School #75, Fulton Junior High and graduated from Ben Davis High School.  After high school she attended Indiana University and received her Bachelor of Social Work Degree. She was also member of the African-American Choral Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Mumford.

After graduation she started her first job at Paul Harris Warehouse.  In 1991 Angela’s career started with the Indiana Department of Revenue as a clerk typist.  From this position she was promoted to secretary, tax examiner, team lead, supervisor and lastly, deputy administrator.  When the deputy administrator position was eliminated Angela retained her supervisor position and was a TRIU/Identity Theft Fraud Section Supervisor  She was the manager of the department.  Angela took pride in providing quality customer service to taxpayers and making sure her team members were well trained on all subject matters.  She would say, “I believe in the adage, when you learn....teach!”

Angela had a passion for cooking and shopping.  She was well known for her orange juice cake.  But her main passion was her family!  Angela was a great planner and was known for her organizational skills.  She loved planning events.

Angela Cole departed this life and received her eternal life on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Eskenazi Hospital at 5:00 am at the age of 52 years.

Angela leaves to cherish her memories her father, Willie Dan Cole; mother, Hattie Pearl Cole; brother, Billy Cole (Sharon) of Indianapolis, IN;  sisters, Sandra Townsend (Clifton) of Fort Wayne, IN; Pauline Baylor (Pastor Willie) of Indianapolis, IN; aunts, Stella Woods of Indianapolis, IN, Emma Grady, and Annie Marie Cole of Jackson, TN; uncles, Raymond Cole, Sylvester Cole and David Cole of Jackson, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends and church family.

I attended Ben Davis High School with Angela. We became fast friends because she was funny, friendly yet laid back and welcoming. I moved to Georgia many years ago, and thanks to Facebook Angela and I were able to reconnect. Angela will be missed, and I extend my prayers, condolences, love and strength to the family.
