Miss Shanay Marie Branson was born January 9, 1991 in Indianapolis Indiana. She was the daughter of Mark and Janet Branson. Shanay was the only daughter out of 5 children.
Shanay received her education within the IPS and Warren Township School Districts. She attended Raymond Park and graduated from Warren Central High School in June 2010. She later was employed at Stonybrook Middle School in the food service department.
Shanay enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved more than anything her son Mason. He was her pride and joy. She also deeply loved her father, mother, and brothers. Shanay enjoyed social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat because they helped her stay in contact with others. She was the kind of person that lit up a room when she entered. She had a beautiful smile and always had something interesting to say. Shanay made you laugh and will be missed by all that encountered her.
Shanay worshiped at Grace Missionary Baptist Church. She joined officially as a youth under the late Rev. Moses Day, Jr. Her health limited her from attending, but she never lost faith. She continued to follow Christ until she was called home on January 8, 2021, at the age of 29 years, one day short of her 30th birthday.
Shanay was proceeded in death by her grandparents, James and Rose Rhea; grandfather, Henry Branson Jr; great-grandmother, Louise Day; aunt, Shannon Kirk and a host of other relatives who left before her.
Shanay leaves to cherish her memory son, Mason Powell; parents, Mark and Janet Branson; brothers, Mark Branson, Jr., Payton Branson, Adrean Branson and Dante Branson; grandparents, Benny and Hattie Carroll; nephews, Payton Branson, Jr., Brylon Branson, Brayden Branson; her only niece, Jaiyla Branson; Mason's father, Maurice Powell; along with a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.
