Debra Lynn Stowers was born on August 19, 1960.  Debra was the loving and very much loved daughter of the late, Frank James and  Airlean M. Stowers. She was the beloved younger sister of Keith Stowers.
Debra was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana for her entire life. She began her formal education at Saint Rita's Catholic Elementary School. A few years down the line, her family moved to the eastside of Indianapolis, and she completed her elementary education at Floro Torrence Public School #83. She was always strong-willed and would never back down from bullies, or compromise her integrity when she knew she was in the right. Debra also attended Secina Catholic High School, where she ran track. She was as swift as the wind, and earned multiple first place  ribbons and a pin shaped like golden track shoes. She set two school speed records for the hundred and two twenty yard dashes.

Debra liked bowling and, of course, like most young women, fashion. She learned her culinary talents from her grandma, Fannie and her mother, Airlean. And she could most definitely put her foot in the pot. “Granny” as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren made the world’s best ribs and greens!  Debra enjoyed volunteering as a poll worker and was very active in getting unregister voters registered to vote.

Debra departed this earthly life to be with the Lord she loved on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the age of sixty years old.

She leaves behind three loving children, Isaac Stowers, LaTasha (Kamil) Shobe, and Marleana (Abiodun Shosanwo) Stowers; her brother, Keith Stowers; and  12 grandchildren who will miss her tremendously.

There are no words to express her loss. She will be sorely missed. There is, however, one consolation. At the beginning of her story, you all were made aware of Debra being fleetness of foot. She believed, whole heartedly, in the Lord, Jesus Christ and God. If she took off running to Jesus right away, she was already in God's loving embrace less than a few seconds after. She will remain alive forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her forever.
